We run a variety of events covering Dressage, Show Jumping, Showing plus our popular new and used Tack Sales. For schedule details please visit the News Page. We utilise various venues around South/West Yorkshire.
Our events are friendly and encouraging whether you are experienced and wish to come along with a new horse, or to dust of the cobwebs and to have some fun.
If you are new to all this, let us know and we will do our best to guide you along this new path, you will be made welcome. Feel free to call us if you would like guidance on which classes to enter or why not consider taking a private training session in the discipline to help it be less daunting. LegUp optional Membership is available for £10 per competitor runs (Dec 25th to Dec 24th) You will receive discounted entry fees. All competitions and training are open to all.
Run in a 20x40m arena. We use British Dressage tests but are unaffiliated so no membership to BD is required, we offer, Intro level (walk and trot), Prelim (walk trot canter) and for those progressing upwards at Novice Level. These are always pre-entry events. Warm up then present your self on time ready to go in and be judged.
We are a bit different to most places as we also run classes at the lower levels which are restricted to those combinations who have not won 3 tests at the level they are entering. Our judges are often BD Judges or have considerable Dressage experience.
Minimum 7 fences and up to 14. We own our own set of Jump 4 Joy jumps or sometimes use jumps that belong to the venue we are using for events. Carolyn our organiser and course builder uses all her experience to provide you with a well-built flowing course to reward good riding and training.
We usually use an all-in-one format, first seven fences not against clock, with remaining 7 fences timed to decide the placings alongside jumping faults. Classes start at 30cm and go up to 1m at some of the shows.
In hand and Ridden Classes. You may have a good example of a breed or type come along and see if you can win a class and will you be lucky enough to take a championship. New to all this? These events are a wonderful place to get your horse socialised. In hand classes train horses to stand and move with others in a different environment and are a great introduction for many horses to going out and about.
Our ridden classes always progress from novice classes starting with walk and trot, to open classes where you will have to show your horse at all paces. Sometimes we also run qualifiers for various national or regional championships.
Judges - some will be panel judges and other experienced competitors in this discipline. At the novice level shows I will often appoint someone experienced in training of novice horses and or riders.
